Who Should Join the Boom Lift Training in Brisbane?

A boom lift is an aerial lift that elevates workers to heights on construction sites, farms, utility lines, etc. The lift is attached to a hydraulic arm, which is connected to the body on the ground. The body is designed like a small cab with a single seat for the operator to control the hydraulic arm and the lift.

The boom lifts can raise the arm between 9 and 264 meters and can carry a weight of 350 kilos, depending on the model. Operating a boom lift is not an easy job. It requires professional EWP training, Brisbane, and a license.

Physical Requirements to be Eligible for the Training

Working with an Elevating Work Platform (EWP) requires physical and mental strength. The physical requirements are determined by the Government of Australia. One such criterion is that the person should lift 10 kilos of dead weight without any visible effort. Good health and body fitness are a must. Of course, a person less than 18 years is not eligible for the training.

The training can last for 3 days and takes you through the entire process of operating from start to finish. You learn to analyze the surroundings, perform routine checks, find the best place to ground the vehicle, operate the boom lift in different conditions, and perform post-operational checks for safety.

According to Australian laws, you should have High Risk Work (HRW) License to operate a boom lift of more than 11 meters (36 feet). The license should be renewed every five years for you to be eligible for the job. Apply for one within 60 days of completing the training.
